I get it they are probably over worked, but I dread having to call, especially when I go out of my way to be curtious and polite, despite the attitude I get in return.

One expression sum's the receptionists up at this health centre..."job's worth"

Just had to my visit to the doctors and was spoken to awful by receptionist and GP because their patient call system wasn't working and they thought was ignoring it when it didn't call my details.

My mother and father are registered here and I am their carer and regularly attend with them. The place is clean and spacious with plenty of seating. The doctors are thorough and caring. For the most part, the staff are efficient, helpful and pleasant. One in particular is always very nice and very caring. I feel that surgeries are often packed beyond capacity and that the staff are often highly worked. I have the utmost respect for them, as they often dealing with difficult situations on a restricted budget. I have had to chase things up on occasion, but it's no big deal, and I know how busy they are trying to keep up with everything.

When you do get through they ask "what's in concerning, you don't have to tell me if it's personal"

The other times my friendly tone (because I know they have a hard job at times) is met with utter rudeness.

Why are the phones engaged constantly? When you get through at well gone 11am your told there are no appointments left and to ring next day to go through it all again. Awful system that needs to be addressed!

Honestly your better off telling them it's personal to get a GP call back. I've lost count of the amount of times the receptionist has told me to go and speak to a pharmacist about my medication query, but the medication I need is not "over the counter", it is prescribed by the GP hence needing to speak to one.

I have spoken to lovely receptionists, but this has only been on a few occassions.

I believe the receptionists have too much authority in this health centre. I have been refused repeat prescriptions by them, only to be given the presctiption by the GP later on in the day.

Queue was too long to make complaint so phoned when I was outside with two receptionists, not on phone and the surgery was engaged. Figured out that the phones are put on engaged so you can't get through. I have never felt so undermined and spoken to like that in my life. Appalling service, and to think this is health services whom we rely on. Would defiantly advise another practice as I will be leaving.

Terrible just awful service it takes a miracle to get through and when you do you often get a jumped up receptionist who thinks they have a MD and half the Dr's really can't be bothered. Wife has endometriosis and was told nothing wrong with her ovaries !

200+ phone calls to get through.

I registered here after moving from Llansamlet to Clydach in January, and urgently required repeat prescriptions, particularly medication for my Type 2 Diabetes, but have been repeatedly given excuses as to them being unable to comply with requests, plus trying to call for an appointment is nigh on impossible as you can rarely get a reply. There seems to be a dire lack of communication between Doctors and the Receptionists as I was told one thing by one, and something else by the other, which has now resulted in my having to wait until Monday (today is Friday!!) to collect said repeat prescriptions and take them to the pharmacy. Due to the fact I've been without my Diabetes medication, I have now been prescribed double the dose as my blood sugars are excessively high. I'm very disappointed all told and hope that my appointment at Diabetic Clinic next week will be a more satisfactory experience.
